Past Installations of Speed of the Earth :

July/August, 2004:      "Athens Olympic Meteor"
Mt. Lycabettus, Athens, Greece
A 400 ft. long meteor of light that raced up and down Athens' tallest hill
for the 17 nights of the 2004 Olympics, sharing the skyline with the Acropolis.
Commissioned through an International competition by the City of Athens
and Olympic Committee.

December, 2000:      "Speed of the Earth/Downtown Rocket"
Court House Square, Binghamton, N.Y.
A First Night/Millennium 2000 installations that ran 600 ft. around the
City Square and then 200 ft. up the face of the 16 story State Office Building

July, 1999:      "Speed of the Earth/Groton Meadow"
A farmland meadow, Groton, MA
A 600 ft. long, privately commissioned installation that coursed a gentle
S-curve across a rolling meadow.

February, 1995:      "Speed of the Earth/Forest Meteor "
President's Hill, Tufts University,
A 500 ft. long, 8 day installation commissioned by Tufts University as
the visual centerpiece for their "20/20 Visions of the Future" conference.

December, 1994:      "Speed of the Earth/City Hall Axis"
Boston City Hall/Government Center Plaza, Boston, MA
A 450 ft. long New Year's Eve installation, commissioned by First Night Boston.

October, 1994:      "Speed of the Earth/Schoeller Light Line"
City Museum Square, Dusseldorf, Germany
A 150 meter long, one night installation that curved across a main square and
"through" the front window of the gallery, commissioned by Galerie Schoeller
for their 20th Anniversary celebration.

July, 1994:      "Speed of the Earth/Massachusetts Special Olympics"
Nickerson Field, Boston University, Boston, M.
A 500 ft. long installation commissioned by Massachusetts Special Olympics
for their opening ceremonies, that raced down and around the running track
in the B.U. Stadium.

June, 1994:      "Speed of the Earth: Encore"
Briggs Field, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA
A 600 ft. long, four day installation, presented as part of the opening week ceremonies for the redesigned M.I.T. Museum

December, 1993      "Speed of the Earth/The Boston Meteor"
Boston Commons, Boston, MA
A 350 ft. long New Year's Eve installation, commissioned by First Night Boston.

June, 1993:      "Speed of the Earth"
Briggs Field, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA
A 600 ft. long, three day installation, presented as part of the 25th Anniversary Celebration for the Center for Advanced Visual Studies.
